Coaches Comments:

My apologies to all once again for the late submission of this report. I know the boys are keen to read how they went. As this report is only being written now on Monday, I can reflect not only on my favourite teams (Linc’s Lynx) weekend performance but also my second favourite teams (West Coast Eagles) weekend performance and I have to say I think the Eagles tried to copy the Lynx first quarter. Because both teams kicked plenty of goals with great team work while not giving the opposition a look at the ball. It was impressive to watch both on Saturday and Sunday. Boys just like you, the Eagles past the ball and marked beautifully and none of them had been up half the night at a disco like so many of you had. I can only guess there were several WCE spies at our game on Saturday looking for tips and inspiration as to how to play footy and you boys gave them everything they needed in that first quarter. Boys you also did remarkably well considering the temperature at the beginning of the game. Mums and Dads while “Skins” type clothing is not allowed in Auskick don’t be scared to put the boys in long sleeves on the cold mornings. I prefer them warm and concentrating than freezing and macho in just their Guernseys. The second quarter onwards saw a much closer contest with our opponents and I think it was around this point that we started delivering less hand balls and short kicks to our team mates and started kicking long to pack contests. I love watching lots of handballs and short kicks to team mates so let’s try more of it next week. Boys just like the Eagles you all had a marvelous game, so a very big thank you from me and all the Mums and Dads, keep it up and I look forward to seeing you again on Saturday.

Best Players:

Max - congratulations on a terrific game, goals up forward and great contributions across the middle and back. Your attack at the footy is becoming a great aspect of your game. Keep up the great work. Aiden - congratulations also on a terrific game, your defensive work and attack of the footy was great to watch. Your kicking is really coming along with some great length behind your big kick; just remember to use the short ones as well. Keep up the great work.
